The Company

Toro Ya Africa is a 50% Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) Company jointly owned by Ramakgalo Solomon Letsatsi, Frederik Nel, Nkhutleleng Mataboge and Melanie Nel. Day–to–day leadership is provided by Chairman Solomon Letsatsi, CEO Frederik (Frik) Nel and General Manager Vincent Mokwadi.

Toro Ya Africa employs some 130 people. This core group is supported by a dedicated team of external consultants, and extensive use is made of local, emerging subcontractors. Not only are overhead costs reduced by the latter, but contractor–community relationships are enhanced, skills are developed and employment is created — a truly self–sustaining strategy.

“Toro Ya Africa” means African Dream. Our vision is to eradicate the housing backlog in South Africa and in Africa.

Directors

Solomon (Solly) Letsatsi studied at RAU University and has extensive experience in the political and business world. His dream to assist in the alleviation of the housing problem in South Africa came to fruition with the establishment of Toro Ya Africa. Solly chairs the Board of Directors at Toro and is actively involved in the running of the business.

Frik Nel obtained a B.Comm from RAU University and amassed considerable experience in business before venturing into the construction field with Toro Ya Africa. As CEO, Frik’s main aim is to ensure the smooth flow of work on all construction. Sites and his determination and dedication has ensured our many project successes.

Vincent Mokwadi has a National diploma in Electrical Engineering , Diploma in Business Administration and Leadership as well as a Certificate in Logistics. With his many years of experience in all aspects of running a successful business Vincent is a real asset to Toro Ya Africa
